Summer Session 2010
June 28th — August 19th
The BLAST’s Warriors Program Summer Session will focus on fun martial art classes that are open to NEW and current students. The Summer Session is an 8 week program consisting of 2 classes per week. It will be broken up into 2 different 4 week focuses: the sport of Mixed Martial Art, self defense, and JKD Concepts.
The Sport of Mixed Martial Arts June 28th—July 23rd
In this session the students will be exploring the growing sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). MMA is an exciting sport that integrates boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and many other martial arts! The students will learn parts of each discipline and how to move from one to another in a safe and fun environment.
Self Defense and Jeet Kune Do Concepts July 26th—August 19th
This session will take some of the principles that we learned in the MMA session and apply them to self defense. In addition, the students will also be introduced to some of the techniques and concepts from Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do. Like MMA, Jeet Kune Do uses some of the best techniques that martial arts has to offer, but for self defense, not sport. The class will learn our Blast Off Self Defense Program to help give students the confidence to defend themselves.
If your child is a current BLAST member and not signed up through the summer talk to one of the staff next time your child is in class. If your child is not part of The BLAST, but would like to try martial arts, please contact us via email or phone to set up a free week trial. This Summer Session is a great time to invite your friends to join in the fun!
All participants and family will be asked to join our Student Appreciation Picnic on Saturday, August 21st!
